Perfect match: Dictation + vibecoding
Why one of the simplest forms of input really improves the ability to iterate faster with vibecoding.
Despite loads of recommendations, I resisted downloading Wispr Flow for my Mac for ages. “Not another app with features that are already covered off” I thought. And sure, it does the basics of native-app dictation like pretty much everything else can these days, but that cross-app launch functionality — switching to be active for whatever app you’re in — works seamlessly. Its speed, accuracy, and ‘baked in’ feel just makes you want to stop using your fingers entirely. That’s something I never really felt in an app with dictation capabilities before.
Go with the flow…
When it comes to vibecoding — often requiring you to issue lengthy instructions and feedback — quality dictation apps like Wispr prove their worth, even to the point that a start to finish website can be made using just your voice.
The advantage is simple: speed and flow. We speak far faster than we type, often three times faster, which means ideas are captured instantly instead of being filtered through a keyboard. More importantly, dictation preserves momentum, at least for me anyway. There’s no pause to correct typos or structure sentences mid-thought.
For me, these little improvements make interacting with LLMs feel even more conversational, and that can only be a productive way to work.
